“La Mer, The Art of Water” was a multi media show in Venice Beach, CA produced and assimilated by Sher. It was a collaboration of choreography, music, performance, art, video and the spoken word. Working with photographer Steve Shea who specializes in underwater photography, Sher was inspired to create an event that brought local artist together, impact the environment and showcase their work. The Electric Lodge Theater is a “green” theater using solar power energy and offering educational classes in dance and art to the community. The concept of the show was based on water ( in all of its forms) and the participating artists contributed pieces conveying their personal expression of water and the roles it can play life. Being inspired by Malibuʼs breathtaking beach landscape, Sher used Jack Johnsonʼs music to choreograph a piece combining dance, film and Steveʼs underwater photography. The show was a huge success, the audience and participants drifted on an amazing journey and proceeds went to water conservation.
